If you are receiving a benefit from Work and Income (WINZ), have a tooth that was injuring in an accident, or if you have a Community Services Card you might be eligible for financial assistance for dental treatment.
If you receive a benefit from Work and Income (WINZ) and have a dental emergency
Recipients of a WINZ benefit are often eligible for a one-off grant from WINZ, in any given year, for emergency dental treatment.
You need a dental assessment and quote from your dentist, which you then use to apply to WINZ for this grant before the dental treatment is carried out.
Please contact us for a free WINZ Quote appointment.
If you have dental problem caused by an accident
An injury to a tooth, or teeth, caused by an accident is usually accepted for cover by ACC. Once a claim is accepted ACC will pay a significant portion of your treatment costs for that tooth or teeth.
This ACC cover is ongoing so any further dental treatment related to that accident/injury continues to be covered to the same extent by ACC.
You need to have an assessment of the injury with your dentist, who will lodge the claim with ACC on your behalf.
You must be a New Zealand resident or citizen to qualify for this cover.
Please contact us for an ACC assessment.
If you have a dental problem and a Community Services Card
Anyone with a Community Services Card, and a dental problem such as toothache or infection, is eligible for treatment of that problem at the Hospital Dental Department.
There is a waiting list for this service, and a referral from your dentist or GP is necessary.
